Merrill Auditorium is a 1,900-seat performing arts auditorium located in the Arts District of downtown Portland, Maine, and just 5 minutes from Clarion Hotel Airport.
The auditorium underwent extensive renovations in 1997 including improved acoustics, sightlines and stage facilities, and the Hermann Kotzschmar Memorial Organ, a celebrated instrument from an extraordinary musician, was incorporated into the stage. Since the restoration, Merrill Auditorium has established itself as one of New England’s finest performing arts centers providing a diverse variety of programming for the region.
Merrill Auditorium Portland Maine is home to the Portland Symphony Orchestra and Portland Ovations along with other operas and Broadway shows.
